Animal Quarantine Service public information verified on July 23, 2026.

Kyrgyzstan and UzbekistanImport quarantine procedures for dogs and cats traveling to Japan from these two countries are currently suspended as a general rule.
MicrochipNumbers beginning with "900202" are currently announced as not accepted. Do not enter the number on this page — check it in your records instead.
Antibody test notificationFollowing the withdrawal of Biobest Laboratories' designation, those holding a notification issued between November 27, 2024 and June 25, 2025 are advised to consult the Animal Quarantine Service at their planned arrival location.
Arrival location in JapanOnly certain airports and seaports can accept imported dogs. If you are bringing a cat to Haneda from a designated region, also check for notices that the cat detention rooms may be full.
